Yesterday I went to jiming temple with Jo. Jinming temple is one of the oldest temples of china it was built in western Jin dynastic. There is a towel in it which is 44 meters high. Inside the temple there is one copper status of Buddha and guanyin contributed which are all 5 ton. They are the gift from Thailand so they are two famous scenic sports in Nanjing. Inside the temple there are some other places of interest, such as ZhiGong Platform and Yan Zhi well Behind is the CiHang Bridge, which connects with the Tai Cith,Xuan Wu lake and Xiao Jiu Huan mount.

We found an nun in the temple she told us a little bit information of Buddhism .Buddhism id one of three largest religions in the world. People said Buddhism was be created by Buddha during 600~500 BC .Buddhism was famous by propagated Reincarnation, all creatures are equal and all the kind people can achieve. So that Buddhism was spread in Asia. And Buddhism was been spread in china at about eastern han dynastic. Buddhism has a really big effort to Chinese culture and development.

I like this kind of service because it can let us know more about the religions. I used just know if I made a wish in the temple and I devout prayer I can achieve my wish. But through this service I actually know more about the Buddhism’s culture. So I felt interesting when I did this service. Because I did not know much about the Buddhism and it was my first time to talk nun too.

volunteer in Galaxy company

I worked in Galaxy Company for about 10 hours during January to May of this year. Galaxy Company is located on Shigu Street

I worked in this company during the weekend, holiday and Friday afternoon. When I worked there I often do the job of cleaning, like sweep the floor and clean the tables. Sometimes I helped the people there to copy some documents or type something on the computer. Although it is a Securities company, but there are also many workers inside the company to work on the computer .Many people thought securities companies just a place offer people to sell and buy stocks. Actually, inside the company, there are many people work on different kinds of stocks .They calculated them increase or decline .Then they talk about these stocks together to make sure the information and sent internal messages to their clients. Tell their clients which stock is increase and they can sell it if they have, which stock is decline they can buy it if they want to let them to help their clients to earn more money.

During this volunteer work, although I just do some simple work .But I learned lots of things from this company. The first thing is people should be careful and hard working on their work. Because I am a volunteer of the company and I did not get anything paid back so if I do a small mistake the boss would not be very angry at me. But I saw one of the cleaners did not clean the table carefully and just left a piece of paper on the table. The boss found it and was not happy and that cleaner’s bonus money was taken away at that day .And another word massager sent wrong information to their clients and made many people lots of money .The boss was very angry and almost fire him. So the first thing I learned is to be careful on the job and try best to make everything perfect. Another thing I learned in the company is not from my work but t is the experience got when I stayed in the company. I saw many people sell and buy stocks when I worked. Some people can earn a lot of money during one day and some people can lose all of he got in an hour. Buying and selling stocks just like a legal gambling. I learned people should be self control and they should know what to do and what not to do. Although some times people may make some mistake. It might be looked horrible but people should not be frightened and desperately trying everything is not accepted. At this time, people should clam down .relax themselves and use a correct way to think about the problems and be rational to the problem.

When I worked in the company I can see different people than people I saw in the school. Although I just do some easy work in the company .But I could really learn a lot of things from these people .I really enjoy this volunteer work.

eat in CIAO ITALIA

CIAO ITALIA is the name of an Italian restaurant I went with Beryl in March .It is located in Shigu Street.

We went there on March 14^th. We ordered pizza, cheese macaroni and seafood pasta. We chose this restaurant because we had never tried Italian food before and some of our classmates said this restaurant is an authentic Italian restaurant. We arrived there at about 1 pm, so there were not so many people.

The food we ordered is quiet different that any other food we ate in other western restaurants before. They are different and I like it because people need to try different thing from time to time . The environment there is good, there were many plants inside the restaurant and the air id clean too. People eat in this restaurant mostly are foreigners. The pasta series in this restaurant is good, I think. And I also recommend this to my friends to try .

We only ordered three foods that day but we did not finish all. So the weight of food is adequate. When we prepared to packing the food home ,the boss of the restaurant came to us and used Chinese to ask us how we thought about his restaurant environment and the food .

We tried Swiss food last time and we eat Italian food this time .I think it is good to try different food of different countries because we can feel the different Cultural atmospheres .It not only let us to taste different food it also let us to know different custom and culture of each country. And I have lots of fun in it.

Go to visit begonia exhibition (public events)

Last Friday, I went to Mochou Lake Park with Beryl to visit the exhibition of Begonia. We chose this exhibition because begonia is my favorite flower and admire flowers can feel the nature and cultivate character. This exhibition is opened during the May holiday.

I like this exhibition very much, because in the begonia garden there were many purple-red begonias. When I stood beside them I can smell the fragrance of the flowers. Begonia used is called “the immortal of flowers”. Because it is beautiful and charming, it often be used to described on beauties. I felt relax when I visited this exhibition, because I can feel the real natural air when I walked inside the garden. Flowers are in full bloom, like colorful cloud in the sky. Old people walking, chatting and playing Tai Chi in the garden. I can see the harmony between human and nature.

After we saw the begonias, Beryl and I walked along the lake to feel the spring .There were some people were dragon boats racing. We awarded the Dragon Boat Festival is nearly and summer is coming. Around the lake there have been planted a lot of willow trees. Some catkin dancing in the lake breeze. Butterflies fly away into flowers. Some kids played in the play ground; some couples were boating in the lake; some elders sauntered dogs along the lake; some feminine sat beside the lake to chat with each other. How a beautiful picture of a harmonious and serene it is.

Go to CCA 2009 fashion show

April 27^th, our school GCA held the annual fashion show in NFLS.For preparing this show everyone puts a lots of effort in it .All Grade 10 students in planning class had been divided into several groups, every group has 4 people and they needed to use the own abilities to do fund raise so that can earn money for the show. We had a lots of fund in that project.

In the night of the fashion show, everyone felt excited about it .Every group of fund raising must had one model to wear the clothes the group members designed then went up the stage to show everybody . Our group’s model is Doria the theme of her clothes was school uniform it was designed by me. She was a little nervous on the stage that day. Kathleen was a model of our class ,she was so beautiful that day when she got on the stage Ms Chu even did not find who she was . Irene , Sima , Joyce ,Jenny in our class did a great job at that day too. People cheered for the models , models and hosts encouraged each other .

After the show my friends and I went to the backstage to congratulate the models we took a lot of photos with the models.We had lots of fund in that show ,everyone was very happy that time . Some of the teacher said this show was the best fashion show they had seen in GCA .

Go out for Nanjing History museum

March 7^th, I went to Nanjing History Museum with Beryl for visiting a special exhibition of glazed tile. Glazed tile is a kind of colorful ceramics to use on buildings and different kinds of art works. With adorned by glazed tile the finished works will be colorful, attractive and donet fade easily .So it often used on ancient temples and pavilions.

After that we went to Ancient Treasure to see some gold, sliver, jades, pearls, agates and some other natural heritages; we went to ancient Chinese lacquer to see some old wood furniture; we went to Ancient Bronze for the bronzes, because chins is one of the earliest countries with an ancient civilization that first employed bronze smelting and casting technology, it has a profound and wide impact on the social progress and also we visited Ming Qing Porcelains and Fabric and embroidery hall. Qing dynastic is my favorite time of China, so it was a great chance for me to know it deeply and I won’t let it away. Rhododendron is one of the most famous special local products of Nanjing.

My favorite exhibits is the glass Arch door from Baoen temple .At the first glace, it is resplendent and attractive. It was built in year13868.There has a number of lions, white elephants, flying sheep, dancing fairy and Pegasus on it. It was almost 2 meters tall.

I had a lot of fun with these exhibits, they are not only let me get increase of my own artistic attainments and also let me learned a lots of history knowledge.

The experience of club activities

I am a member of TV series Club. Before I join this club I am a big movie and TV series fan .l love watch movies and tv series especially Disney’s. Just Candy wanted set up a new club, so I joined it.
September, 22th is the first day of our TV series club activities. We watched ‘Prison break’ first. It was a little difficult for us to understand what were actors talking about, because we used to watch TV with Chinese subtitles , but that time we could only listened them talking to think what were they mean. The next activities are on 29th, but that day only about 6 people came, we did not know where other guys were. We watched Nania2 that day, and we felt the excited of Suan and her brothers and sister see Aslan ;felt the peaceful when Lucy dream about the forest ;enjoyed the quiet of Nania. Although it only cost us 1 hour but, we could achieve a lot .We could learn steadfast and persevering from Lucy and learn intelligence and clam from Susan. We watched happy trash videos at the next time. Almost everybody came to watch it and many videos made us laugh loudly, because they were so funny and the make the movie perfect to introduction their project. Then for about 2 weeks activities we watched the Simpson family for fun .It is a famous cartoon in the US every children even teenagers and soma adults are also like to watch the Simpson family . And on November, 18th we had our second meeting .It talked about what time we should come to join the club activities and what places we should arrive.
I think I join the TV series club is a good idea. Because I am no can only watch nice movies and TV Series in my free time, I can also test my English level and improve my own English skill. It’s great and attractive. Maybe some body thinks watch TV series and Movies are wasting time. But I think it is not true. I think if we understand what the actors were talking about; we can learn some slang, some colloquial sentences and make our pronunciation and intonation right.
We can also learn other country’s cultural by watch their Movies .By watching TV we can know their life immediate and make their life comparison to our life and cultural. So I think join TV series is a good idea .Whatever other think about this ,I will continuous to do this ,because I know the more I watch ,the more t learn.
